They were only produced in a limited number until Carl Hanson & Son re-launched the chair in 1996. It is available in a wide choice of fabrics and leathers There is also a matching footstool: the CH446.

• More Info - This side chair has a beautiful ergonomic shape and a tripod base. It is sometimes known as the ‘Tulip Chair’ because of the shape’s resemblance to tulip petals. Kjærholm got his wife to sit in boxes of clay to help with modelling the shape for the chair. It is available upholstered in black, white, red and brown leather.

• More Info - A space saving design, it folds flat and becomes only an inch thick. The thin metal frame and transparent seat and back make it look very light. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Over four million have been sold and it is on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It won the BIO 5 award at the Lyublyana Biennial and the Gute Form prize of the Federal Republik of Germany in 1973. The plastic seat and back is available in transparent and colours and you can also buy seat pads for it which come in many different colours.

• More Info - This is humours chair is utterly iconic and timeless. It challenged the idea that furniture is a solid, permanent feature in a home as this can be easily deflated and put away. It was designed to be reasonably cheap, disposable and fun. It is light enough to be used in a swimming pool. It was the first inflatable chair to be mass produced and even though there have been many copies and other versions designed but this one is still the best. It is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The original comes in clear, yellow or red.

• More Info - Also known as the Polyprop chair, this was the first chair to be made from injection-moulded polypropylene (invented in 1953). It has been widely copied because it is such a brilliant design. It is cheap, light, reliable, stackable, easy to clean and robust. They are especially popular in schools. Robin Day launched the chair by sending 600 free ones to architects, designers and journalists. Now over 14 million have been sold in 23 countries around the world. It is available in many colours. It is so iconic it was featured on the ‘British Design Classics’ stamp series. There is also an armchair and upholstered version. It is available in 5 different sizes and loads of colours.

• More Info - Like many other pieces of Hans J. Wegner’s furniture the Ox Chair was ahead of its time when it was made but is now it is regarded as a modern classic. It is a very powerful masculine chair and was Wegner’s favourite in his home. The dramatic ‘horns’ support the head and the angle of the seat means the sitter has to relax. It was designed to be roomy and inviting. It is one of his more playful designs and he said ‘we must take care that everything doesn’t get so dreadfully serious.’ It represents Wegner’s change in style because before he concentrated on more traditional wood pieces.

• More Info - An iconic Finnish design, this chair both swivels and rocks. It is said that the shape of the chair came from the imprint left in the snow that Kukkapuro made from sleeping in the snow after getting too drunk. It was named the world's most comfortable armchair by The New York Times. It is shown in the permanent collections of many museums all over the world. It is available in black, cream, tan, red, white and brown leather and there is a matching footstool.

• More Info - The Ball Chair was designed by simple cutting off part of a sphere. It is a very unconventional chair, especially for it’s time. Because there are sort of walls around you when you sit in it, it is very cosy and is like a private space. It is sometimes called the Globe Chair and is considered a classic of industrial design. It was originally upholstered only in red fabric but now many colours are available and other version such as ones with MP3 player integration have been created. Larger ones have also been made however the original was designed to be able to fit through a doorway.

• More Info - This is one of two chairs from Platner’s Lounge collection of sculptural furniture which is made using steel wire to create a very fine, graceful effect. The collection won the American Institute of Architects International Award in1966. The upholstery is available in 12 colours and the wire base in bright nickel with clear lacquer protection or painted bronze metallic frame.

• More Info - This chair is a lower version of the Tulip chair, which has a head rest. There is also a barstool version and one with a cross base. It is a very elegant and inviting chair which would make a perfect side, dining or desk chair. It is available upholstered in leather or fabric in many colours.

GJ Chair by Grete Jalk, 1963

• More Info - This chair is regarded as the best and is certainly the most famous piece by Grete Jalk. It won first prize in a competition organized by the British newspaper Daily Mail. It is a very sculptural chair and has a very interesting shape. It is made form only two pieces of moulded plywood and is very complex to produce. He was inspired by the bent plywood chairs by Alvar Alto and Charles Eames but with this chair he decided to be even more adventurous with this method of making. The chair is available in teak, Oregon pine and black stained ash wood. A was designed with a matching table: the GJ Nesting Table.

• More Info - This chair is extremely comfortable. It has such an anthropomorphic form and is in the perfect lounging position. It is both practical and playful. It was named after a childhood friend of Mourgue. It is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It is available in a range of colours.

• More Info - This chair was quite futuristic when it was designed but is now a bit retro. Artifort reintroduced it in 2006, with a slight modification to the base. The base is available in white and black and the  upholstery in many different fabrics and red, black, blue, white, brown or cream leather.

Ribbon Chair by Pierre Paulin, 1966

• More Info - This sculptural got it’s name because it looks like a piece of curved ribbon and it is now a modern classic. Pierre Poulin said "A chair should be more than simply functional. It should be friendly, fun and colourful" and the Ribbon Chair is certainly friendly, fun and colourful, as well as comfortable and stylish. It has a bold sinuous shaped seat which is contrasted well with a rectangular metal base. The chair won an AIA award and is exhibited in the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. There is a matching ottoman. It is available in many different colours and patterns of fabric.
